Scott Jagodzinski sold anything he could growing up in Mooreton, ND, developing a life skill of likability. "Scott is smart," says GL Hoffman, "But he might simply be one of the most likable people you will ever meet."
Scott remembers admiring an uncle who was an accountant and drove a nice car. "I wanted to be like him so I could wear a nice suit," he laughs. So, it was on to college, a CPA, Arthur Andersen and an MBA at the University of Minnesota.
He quickly moved on, choosing instead to grow and create businesses, leading the sale of Novus Media to Omnicom Group. Most recently, he led Mediaspace Solutions and is now working on a new passion, a group fitness start-up called Alchemy. "It blends some of the best components of yoga and CrossFit without being boring or too extreme," says Scott.
For him, the best part might well be his four partners, two in their 20's, two in their 30's. "They are smart, fearless and have great business instincts. Working with them is like taking an anti-aging drug." Startups are a lot like nonprofits, Scott says, "It often boils down to resourcefulness over resources."
